Arsenal star snubs England team

England manager, Gareth Southgate, in a recent update, disclosed that Arsenal defender Ben White has turned down chances to play in their latest matches.

This also rules White out of the European Championships in the summer.

Southgate revealed to the player relayed his snub through the Gunners’ technical director Edu in a phone call last week.

The latest Three Lions squad was unveiled today.

Speaking at Wembley on Thursday, Southgate said: “We had a call from Edu last week to say that Ben didn’t want to be considered for England squads at this time. It’s a great shame.”

Southgate, however, insisted he did not want to close the door on bringing White back into the fold in the future.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are seated at the top of the Premier League table. They have also progressed to the quarter-finals in the Champions League
