Arsenal legend gives verdict on clubs top target this summer

Former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has shared his opinion on the club’s pursuit of Portuguese attacking midfielder Renato Sanchez.

Arsenal are willing to force their way back into the top four after missing out of a place in European elite competition for the first time in a decade.

The Gunners are now linked with top players as they are willing to strengthen the club in all departments.

According to multiple reports, Renato Sanches has become the latest player linked to Arsenal after his impressive performance for Lille last season.

He has also been productive for Portugal at the European Championship despite losing the tournament last night.

However, ahead of the game, Patrick Vieira showered praise on Sanchez.

Speaking with ITV, the Frenchman stated that Sanches was a big prospect, and everybody was waiting for him to be one of the top young players for the future.

However, he moved to Bayern Munich, where he has a challenging period.

Viera stated that he does not think it was the right place for him to keep developing, but last year with Lille, Sanches did really well.

He wasn’t really consistent during the season, but he had some flashes of his talent.

Sanches burst onto the scene in 2016 as Portugal lifted the European Championship title but he wasn’t able to replicate that form when he joined Bayern Munich.
