Arsenal Close to Securing Jamie Gittens Ahead of Summer Move

Arsenal are reportedly nearing an agreement to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, with the talented youngster signalling his intention to move ahead of the summer transfer window.
With Raheem Sterling set to return to Chelsea following the end of his loan spell, Gabriel Jesus still sidelined due to a long-term ACL injury, and Leandro Trossard linked with a potential departure, Arsenal are expected to bolster their attacking options in the coming months.
Mikel Arteta’s side has struggled for goals this season, with no player reaching double figures in the Premier League and the team managing just 64 goals—27 fewer than last season—with only three matches remaining. The need for fresh attacking reinforcements is becoming increasingly evident.
Gittens, 20, is seen as one of Europe’s brightest young talents. He moved to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City’s academy at the age of 16, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, he has followed a similar path to Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham by earning a spot in Dortmund’s senior squad and impressing in the Bundesliga.
Reports from German media last week indicated that Gittens has already made his intentions clear regarding a transfer, and Arsenal are now leading the race to secure his signature.
The move would mark a significant step in Arsenal’s summer rebuild as they look to reassert themselves as title contenders in the 2025/26 campaign.
