Arsenal Agree Personal Terms with Defender as €20m Transfer Nears Completion

Arsenal have reached an agreement on personal terms with Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera, moving closer to what could become their fourth signing of the summer.

The 21-year-old centre-back is highly regarded across Europe, and the Gunners are now preparing a revised bid after seeing their initial €14 million offer rejected.

Talks between the clubs are progressing, with Arsenal expected to table a new proposal worth more than €20 million. Mosquera, who has already made nearly 100 senior appearances for Valencia, is viewed as a long-term investment and a key addition to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s defensive options.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have been working behind the scenes to finalise personal terms while pushing negotiations forward on the club side.

Despite interest from Real Madrid, Valencia are said to prefer selling the player abroad rather than to a domestic rival, giving Arsenal an advantage in the race for his signature.

This move comes as part of Arsenal’s continued push to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League, after finishing as runners-up for three consecutive seasons. Sporting director Andrea Berta has been instrumental in driving the Gunners’ transfer strategy this summer, focusing on young talent with high potential.

Should the deal go through, Mosquera would add depth, composure, and athleticism to Arsenal’s back line, providing valuable competition and rotation options ahead of a demanding 2025/26 campaign.
