Arsenal youngster blast social media platforms over racist abuse

Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka in a lengthy post on social media has slammed social media giants over the online racist abuse he and his teammates suffered after Euro 2020.

Saka, alongside Marcos Rashford and Jadon Sancho, were targetted by some fans after they missed a penalty during England’s defeat to Italy at Euro 2020 final.

The Arsenal forward and his teammates have continued to receive support from their colleagues and also from top personalities in all walks of life.

Their club have also been supportive, condemning the action, which has been consistent in the past few seasons.

However, Saka, in a lengthy post on his social media platform, condemned social media companies for doing too little to block hateful and hurtful messages on their platforms.

Saka’s comments were directed at Instagram, Twitter and Facebook as he noted that Bukayo Saka does not want anyone else to be targeted by the kind of messages he and teammates have received after Sunday’s game.
